at Teatru Manoel 17/18/19 & 24/25/26 March 2023 at Teatru Manoel 

AUDITION DATE: 

Saturday 1 October 2022 from 2pm at the MADC Clubrooms, St Venera

In Private Lives, passion, laughter, romance, anger, and love set the stage for a battle of the sexes as divorced couple, Amanda and Elyot, find themselves unwittingly thrown together in Coward’s classic comedy of manners. Unknowingly booking adjoining rooms while on honeymoon with their respective spouses, Victor and Sybil, Amanda and Elyot are forced to face their true feelings for each other. Fast-paced, witty, and passionate, Noel Coward’s comedy is a delightful romp.

Auditions for MADC and Teatru Manoel’s production of Noel Coward’s Private Lives, directed by Malcolm Galea, will be held on Saturday 1st October 2022 from 2pm at the MADC Clubrooms, St Venera.  To book your audition slot please send an email to info@madc.com.mt by Friday 30 September, with the name of the role/s you are interested in auditioning for.  You will then be forwarded a couple of pages from the script for you to familiarise yourselves with for the audition.

 

Character Descriptions:

ELYOT CHASE - Male Lead Role - mid thirties to mid forties: 

Sibyl's rich and handsome new husband who was formerly married to Amanda. He has a quick and cutting wit that he wields throughout the play.

 

AMANDA PRYNNE - Female Lead Role - mid thirties to mid forties:

Victor's glamorous, sharp-witted, impulsive, defiant, and fiery bride; formerly married to Elyot. 

 

VICTOR PRYNNE - Male Supporting Role - mid thirties to mid fifties:

Amanda's conventional, dignified, and masculine second husband, who is very pleased to describe himself as “normal.”

 

SIBYL CHASE - Female Supporting Role - mid twenties to early thirties:

An attractive first-time bride who feels very threatened by her new husband's first wife, Amanda.

 

LOUISE - Female Featured Role - any Adult age:

Amanda’s French maid
