The MADC One Act Play Festival was established in 1979 and has become a very important feature of the club’s seasonal activities, under the watchful eye of the club's Artistic Director. The Festival gives aspiring young actors and directors the opportunity to show their talents to a live audience in a competitive, club atmosphere.
Many of today’s leading thespians and directors made their stage debut in MADC’s One Act Festival, winning the coveted awards.
This year's edition saw Gianni Girioli directing The Price to be Paid, Benedel Forro directing Family 2.0, Joe Depasquale directing 22 minutes and lastly Keith Joseph Barbara directing He said and She Said.
Prizes were awarded as follows:
Most Promising Actress: Christina Despott
Most Promising Actor: Chriatian Bernard Gauci
Best Actress: Tanya Bonnici
Best Actor: Gianni Selvaggi
Best Director: Benedek Forro
Best Production: 22 Minutes
