Ebenezer SCROOGE! The Panto

Written by Alan Montanaro & Directed by Steve Casaletto

26 December 2024 to 5 January 2025 at Teatru Salesjan, Sliema.

 

AUDITION DATES:

Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th April 2024

from 10am at the MADC Clubrooms, St Venera

 

MADC will be bringing theatrical gold to the NEW SALESIANS THEATRE in Sliema with Ebenezer SCROOGE! The Panto written by Alan Montanaro who’ll be back again in a bra and heels as Dame!

Join us as we travel to Victorian London to meet the quintessential miser as he travels through space and time in this rich morality tale that will bring music, dance, humour, a few scares and joy this Christmas.

There are loads of roles up for grabs, and with so many characters in the story, there’ll be some doubling up – so put on your dancing pumps, gargle with ginger and blow bubbles in a bottle and join us for auditions on 27th and 28th April 2024 at the MADC Clubrooms, St. Venera.

To book your audition slot, please send an email to info@madc.com.mt indicating the role/s you would like to audition for or if you would like to be part of the Ensemble. You will then be forwarded a couple of pages for you to familiarise yourselves with for the audition. Kindly prepare a song of your choice that best shows off your vocal ability and range. Please bring your own backing track on USB or phone (there will not be a pianist to accompany auditions and we don’t accept acapella auditions). Dancing auditions will be held in groups on the day. Simply put, let your talent shine as we celebrate the holiday spirit in grand style. Dickens would be proud, and we can't wait to see you bring his beloved characters to life on stage!

N.B. All auditionees (except for the role of Tiny Tim) must be aged 18 and over as of October 2024. All those cast must make themselves available for the photoshoot on Sunday 15th September 2024. Deadline to apply is Thursday 25th April 2024.

 

CAST:

EBENEZER SCROOGE: Precast (STEPHEN OLIVER) - an old miser

DAME: Precast (ALAN MONTANARO) - Scrooge’s love interest

BOB CRATCHIT: Scrooge’s clerk

MACH A VILLAIN: an evil lawyer with a plan

JACOB MARLEY: the ghost of Scrooge’s ex partner

GHOST OF CHRISTMAS PAST: female ghostWitee

GHOST OF CHRISTMAS PRESENT: male - heavy set

GHOST OF CHRISTMAS TO COME: undefined role

MRS SCRATCHIT: Bob Cratchet’s itchy wife

TINY TIM: the Cratchet’s youngest – male - Playing age 10-14

THE ENSEMBLE: will also play a wide variety of character parts during this production. This is not a traditional "Chorus" but more along the lines of a modern musical Ensemble. As such we will endeavour to spread these roles out between the ensemble cast members.
